Post subject: Rear window for a 76 LUV
PostPosted: Sun Nov 14, 2004 12:59 pm
Hi, new here. :) I just inherited a 76 green LUV that has been in the family since 76. It has either 64K or 84K miles on it. Anyway, the rear window is broke out and I am wondering if other years of LUV's would fit it. I see one on e-bay for an 81 LUV. New to Chevys as we have all Fords. :D

Thanks for any help now and in the future for parts we may need. She runs good only misses. Gonna try gas line additive.

Vicki

72-80 windows should fit, but in 81 the body style changed pretty drastically.

A tune up will likely cure the miss. New plugs, cap/rotor, points, plug wires. Getting the points gapped correctly can be a little tricky if doing it the first time, but its not too difficult. If you are new to LUVs, the first thing you will want to get is a shop manual. You can buy the Haynes manual for LUVs at most any parts store for around $15 and it is well worth it.

Welcome to the site.
What he said! Not sure what they're at in Wa, but the back window will run about $35 from a wrecking yard down here...

Thanks guys! It turns out my sister is giving the truck to my daughter to haul yard waste in! It is a pretty dependable truck that's for sure! I will tell my daughter that it probably needs a tune up and where to get the window.

Thanks again,
Vicki
