Tomorrow I'm going to the Pick N Pull and check it out. I'm looking for sun visors. I'll let you guys know if I come across some Luvs, Troopers, or anyting that stands out.

Yeah, I am going to my local self serve yard today also. I know there are several Luvs there, mostly 79s and 80s I think. I am going to make a list of whats there so if anyone needs something specific, let me know and I'll tell you if they have it here. Their prices are very reasonable. I'm in the Chico CA. area but if someone needs something shipped, I'd be glad to help out.

Well, not much to report from the salvage yard. There are...

4 - 1980's

3 - 1979's

and

1 - 1978 Luv in the local yard. Unfortunately, not too many good parts. There were a few instrument clusters in good shape, a couple sets of decent taillights 1or 2 "iffy" tailgates and some small stuff like glovebox doors, heater controls, ashtrays etc. If you need me to check for parts from these trucks for ya, just send me a message cause I'm in that place all the time.

Very true and understandable....HOWEVER, tonight I went in and edited what i REALLY mean in that post. I am NOT about to crush any LUV parts. Please read that post and you will understand me completely......i think. I was just having a bad day and tired of being jewed down on stuff, and I am TRYING to get away from the dam computer......hope everyone understands

i think this post was meant for the Nor Cal guys.......Blue.... i would love to take you up on that windsheild you got but i don't quite have the budget to drive to texas to get it.

The more I read on here, the more it seems as though windshield are hard to come by. I must have had my head up my a** last time because I didn't pay attention. I'll be down there tomorrow and I'll post up with what I find.

Thats why a pulled my factory tinted windshield before I sent the leftovers to the junkyard.

Before anyone asks about the "factory" part, It wasn't stock glass. Its a replacement glass with the tint strip manufactured in at the top.

8 Luv trucks and every one has a cracked or broken windshield.

There were 3 good flat rear windows though if anyone's intereted in those. no good sliders.

Used winsheild in good conidtion are hard to find. I dont remember how the 79' I saw last week in the wreckingyard is. However there is a pickNpull in Moss Landing California (Between Santa Cruz and Monetery)
that has a section that just sells used winsheilds.

Lil Blue, I am not trying to hurt you sales, just some large items would cost a lost for some of us to get them from you.

Oh hey.......it's perfectly understand able man.
I will NOT ship a windshield anyway, NOBODY in the land will guarantee one to survive the trip unharmed.
So anyway......I have a perfect LUV windshield HERE, and maybe someday someone will be passing thru an buy it. No worries here. i am now an actual salvage yard, Luv parts are still selling great....but i have other things to sell also + I am doing repairs there as well, so blue feels no pain. However, i do appreciate the kind ness and the time taken to explain

I didnt know the winshield was so hard to find I went to my local glass shop and they will install one for free in my truck after I paint it . They pay my deductable on my insurance $100 and Insurance covers the rest.

Went to the salvage yard again yesterday and 2 of the Luvs have been crushed. There I said it....crushed!

There wasn't much to them but they were both good cabs, 1 pretty decent bed and one ok bed. Probably a couple useable doors and fenders. Ok, I'll shut up now. I'm just the kind of guy who HATES seeing anything the least bit cool, or parts that could contribute to something being cool, go to waste.

Sad to say but they keep getting rarer everyday due to the crusher.
I got the chrome rear end for mine from an old club member that was taking his to the crusher and there wasnt even anything really wrong with it.
