That's "Desert tan" I'll have you know! But yeah that's what I'm driving now.
I was driving the maroon one until the wiring harness fried. Decided to go with an aftermarket harness and hide as much of it as possible. Found a bunch of rust and bondo. So instead of getting rid of the white truck I bought to put a V8 in, I decided to do a frame off, and make 1 sweet truck from the two.

DAMN!! The maroon one looked good...."once upon a time". Didn't it have a V-8 in it? Where did it fry at? Under the hood?

Did you get your new harness yet? I'm leanin toward a Summit one, I don't wanna have to build mine twice.

Anyway, good luck with the BUILD-UP. Did you clean & paint the frame?
I used your idea with the oven cleaner on mine. Went thru a case of it just on the frame, susp., & engine bay. Works real good. Thanks.

yeah it had a 350. about 40% of the wiring ended up being fried. There was a ton of splices in them too, some of which were connected with duct tape!
My frame isn't done yet, gonna get the motor mounts in and then take it down and have it blasted. Its $40 to have that done.
I haven't got the harness yet, I decided to wait until I'm a little farther along in the build.

The hot tank in a can works pretty well. Get mine from the dollar store, so it's cheap too. :D

8O 8O 40$'s.......Here in Atl. they wanted to charge me 200$'s.....just to blast the frame!!!!
So, I decided to clean it the best I could myself!! Although, ALOT of wire brushing, sweat, & only spendin 20$'s for oven cleaner.........It's cleaned & painted........At least, all I could reach, the cab is still on the frame, but it should be swapped, by Monday.

A buddy of mine is ready for mine to be on the road (he's been helpin me), He wants me to use the factory harness, & just splice into it. I told him NOWAY, it's about 25 years old, dried out, & brittle, Just a fire waiting to happen!!
So, I'm waitin too.
I also, am gonna have it painted, BEFORE the engine goes in. If, I have it runnin before its painted........it may never sit still long enough to get painted. lol.
