 Post subject: exhaust smell

hey i was wondering if anybody could share some insight with this. its not really a problem, but kind of annoying. my exhaust smells soooo bad. the engine doesnt smoke at all, but all i really know is that somebody before me took the smog control off. anyone have any advice, or do i just to live with it.

what kind of stink?.......a dirty cat. smells like rotten eggs sometimes.

otherwise i'd say it's running too rich.i'll assume that youv'e had a tune up recently also. if you havent then do it.

rev it up a little and hold it at a very high idle(1500-2000)and see if it stinks then,if it doesn't reset the idle mixture. if it does i'd think you need to get it rejetted cause there worn out.

i kind of think it's a carberator problem or the mixture isn't right or something. i let it sit and run for a while and the exhaust started to have a real strong gasoline smell to it like it was just pouring gas out of the tailpipe. i cleaned the carberator a few weeks ago, and i have an extra one laying around, i may try that and see if it gets better.
