well Ivan hit Pensacola perty much headon as you might know. That means im a homeless airman! We hunkered down in a school for 5days, 5 long unpleasant days. Now im at Keesler AFB Mississippi. It was amazing realy, pensacola beach dosnt realy exsist anymore and the NAS there is perty much screwed. Just thought i would let you guys know, those people down there need help and prayers bad...

did the school i'm going to for training for CTT get hit hard?

my boyfriend's sister lives in Pensacola, too. She just stayed at her house, in a closet and slept through it. Amazingly enough, nothing was seriously damaged, and now, just days after, her power is back on! She's really lucky. She says everything is completely different, though, just wiped out.

well i just got some news about the A schools. the navy has sent most people who are attending A school in Pensacola on leave till they can get the school , and liveing quarters in good enough shape for people to live in them. basicaly I've heard that the school isnt all there and almost every thing electronic was runed , there are a few walls missing. basically my recruter told me that I might not have an A school for a while. my biggest concern is the people if it could do that to a huge school then houses must have disapeared. does any one have any pics of whats left of the city?

well i was back on base yesterday getting a buddies toyota back to keesler. The school house is thrashed. By the AF commanders office you can see sky and they were getting watter out for 2-3days after. Right after the storm passed there was 6' of standing watter in most the structures. So school wont be there for at least 3-4months again. The actual town of Pensacola has some realy hard hit places but alot of it is still intact, honestly i was expecting worse. As for me, the commander is going to be gradutaing the higher classes. So if rummor holds true ill get my maint badge and certificate tonight and be on a plane tomarow.
