Post subject: got my LUV! one pic
PostPosted: Wed Sep 08, 2004 9:05 pm
hey i just got back from california last night, drove all the way back to seattle. then today, i havent even had the truck for 24 hours, i took the truck into maaco to get it painted and some body work done... i spent $734 at maaco to get it all done, and that includes 3 coats of paint, clearcaot, prep work, primer and all that junk. also includes fixing the drivers door which doesnt open (haha) and a couple dents in the body... pretty good deal. anyways, im getting it back on tuesday, ill be sure to post more pics so you can all see what it looks like. i really like the truck, it runs great. now i just need new wheels, tires, bumpers, and then im set. tell me what you think! by the way, im gettting it painted "porsche red," the color of the new red ones, so itll be pretty sweet.

Looks like a decent truck to start with.

Why doesn't the drivers door open?

the paint was actually in really bad condition, if you rubbed your finger on the door it powdered off, i think it looks better in the rain or something. its a 4x4 so i dont plan on lowering it or anything... im pretty happy with the stock height. drivers door doesnt open cause my granpa ran his tractor into it, and we had to bend it back into place... then it was out of alignment. also, can anyone recoomend a failry cheap tonneau cover?

looks nice! 8)

interior should be pretty easy. I just used a dash cap, seat covers (I have bucket seats in mine), painted the headliner with vinyl paint, and bought some fabric to cover the door panels. Now my interior looks brand new!

I'd be interested in one of those wheels, if you still have them.

thanks guys... the headliner is actually alright, but the dash has two of thos characteristic chevy luv cracks, so that needs to go. i wish youd mentioned the wheels earlier, because i just gave 4 away to the tire place for free, but i do have two left, one for myself and possibly another for you if your willing to pick it up. if you scroll up to the top, its the same wheel and tire that was on the truck in the first picture.

Looking nice!! keep up the good work, i'd say that your Luv is looking better than brand new! 1 question, with your new rims i noticed that on the front rims the center caps didn't have the centers cut out. i was woundering "now how does he expect to get the thing into 4x4?!" woundering when your gonna have that fixed. nice looking rims, i got new rims and tires for my Luv too. 15x6 Unique Modulars w/ 215X75R15 BF Goodrich All Terrians, mine are chrome though but they still look nice, but man did they put a hole in my wallet, $836.
