will a Datsun rear end fit in a Luv

Any thing can fit anything if your willing to spend enough time and effort to the cause. You didn't specify what kind of Datsun rear end. If you're going with a small block, it would seem to be a waste of time because you can tear it up with a strong running V-8. Is the Datsun axle built to mount under or over the leaf spring? A drive shaft will most likely need to be modified/fabricated to match up the axle to the trans. There'a lot of factors to consider when adapting new powertrain assys.

I put a Datsun 300ZX Turbo rear end under my LUV. Now mind you, it is nowhere close to hitting the road yet. Took more time to make sure everything lined up right, than to weld the brackets. Plans were to put a Chevy 283 Small block but that's changed to a Chevy 4.3 V-6.
