I finally got around to buying a LUV today. 77 with a straight body NO rust (It has a plastic bed liner so I havn't seen the inside of the bed yet), Origional yellow that Still looks good. Interior is in really good condition (even the dash). Has a recently rebuilt 350 with a turbo 300 trans (I think that is what they are called), rear end out of a camero (3:54 gears). NOTE I am not Engine savy, but good enough that I am not afraid to jump in. All this for $950 (I talked the guy down from $1500.

I have a few questions:
-Is it normal for this trans to shift sorta hard. ( I have never owned a 350 before). How many gears do they have. It seemed to only have two?

-On the guage that has temp and fuel level, there is a little "c" and a "o" what do they mean cuz the one on the right, which I think is the "o" is lit up.

-what headers are you V8 guys and gals using, doesn't seem to be any room at all?

I know I will have more questions as time comes. I will ge pics up soon.

Dan :D :D :D :D

yay a luv owner! sounds like a good deal for $950, good job! haha

it has 3 gears. 1 is shifting into drive, and then once you start going, it shifts twice more

I dunno about the gauges, and the headers, I dunno yet either, I haven't gotten those yet (next paycheck, lol) there are v8 hooker luv headers that I am going to get and yeah from what I understand it's a tight fit.

post pictures!!! :D

ps I saw you were interested in a mustang II front suspension, I am going to do that as well!

c= charge, o= oil check your oil. If it has 2 gears you have a powerglide or if it is a th350 its not shifting right. If you go by Luvnit's I'll stop by when I get off work.

The guy that I bought the bedliner from won't know where it came from. He traded a Nova three days ago for this LUV. I will go look at the bedliner and see if there is any name or identifying tags though.

It's not unusual to have a strong shift from first to second, and then a real soft shift into third with the TH350. Just pay real close attention next time you drive it, and maybe even install a tach to watch your rpm.

I ordered "POR 15" and their re-inforcing mesh a while back for the rust and applied it yesterday. This stuff in amazing. you dont have to grind down to the bare metal just remove any loose rust and apply. using the fiberglass mesh I was able to cover up all the holes ( even some 2 1/2in wide). this stuff dries rock hard. As the paint drips through the holes it clogs them up. It covers up the rust and makes your floor board look brand new. I will take photos and show ya'll. oh.....the holes in the photo above were made even larger when I grabbed the pressure sprayer 8O ..oops. I would suggest this stuff to anyone fighting the battle of rust. this stuff is so hard once it dries that not even paint thinner or acetone will remove it (I have it all over my hands and can't get it off, guess I should have read the directions first).

oh.......can't wait to finish my 383 stroker, my 350 is gettin bored .040 over right as I type. Like a little kid with a new toy. :D  :D

http://www.prp-porstore.com/ (free shipping for $100 or more)

http://www.por15.com/Default.asp?

I also came across it on Ebay. unfortunately anywhere you get it is will be spendy...but worth it. For a gallon of pro 15 (what I bought it is like $105, the mesh stuff is like$ 7.50 for a yard of it). If you do end up getting it, get the silver cuz it contains more metal flakes than any other colors (this stuff works well on frames too) I would alos suggest getting the "Metal Ready" it helps etch the metal so the por 15 sticks to it better.

(I don't mean to sound like a salesman but this stuff is good)

I'm very interested to see how it turned out. My passenger side has 2 holes in it, bigger than yours, and I was looking at getting there floor pan / trunk repair kit ( http://www.por15.com/product.asp?productid=305 ) for $120. Seems to come with everything you need. Not sure how much it will cover, hoping it will be enough to do mine. I also was going to get the stuff to do my frame and underside of the bed and now maybe the underside of the cab as well, just as added protection.

Looking forward to pics.

Thanks,
Chad
