 Post subject: Power Brake Booster
PostPosted: Tue Jul 27, 2004 3:19 pm
Can anyone give me a link or a phone number where I can get a Power brake booster? I will send mine for rebuilding if necessary, but I just don't know who to call. The local Parts Plus wants $120.00 to ship one from Pennsylvania (I'm in Georgia). I think that's a little too expensive....
Is it???

How do you know the booster is bad? I just replaced the master cylincer
on my luv and was wondering what the boosters go for.
I priced one here in CA and I like it was about 110 at a local auto supply
Try JC Whitney.

I know mine's bad because the brake pedal is hard, and the stupid thing whistles at every stop light... driving me crazy!!!

there is a test to verify for sure that the booser is bad. with the truck not running, push down on the brake pedal till it starts to get hard. now start the truck up and the brake pedal should move down an inch or two. if it doesn't move at all then the booster is bad. i've only seen one bad booster and that was on a 76 chevy, and you literally had to stand up on the brake pedal to stop the truck. my luv has a hard pedal but the booster works and it stops good.
