I was looking through the galleries again and saw on Thomas Wakeling's truck that the front side marker lights are different then the US trucks. Do any of you Aussies have a good pic of these. I like the look of these and might check into putting these on mine. [/img]

Those are quite different looking. I know the 80 trucks here in the US had slightly changed lights from the 79s, but that is a lot more different. Here is a link to that gallery, look at the bottom picture in the center row.

800xl,
I have an '80 and know the difference you mention. One fender has been replaced with an older one. I just thought they look a little different. I also like the older luv emblems better too..

I also noticed in that gallery that the front turn signal lenses are two tone as well. There is a white section on the outer side of each of them. It also looks like the rear side marker lights are not even there, but that bed is not from a 73 truck either. Looks to be at least 77 if not newer (going by US standards of what is what).

There are a couple of right side drives in the galleries here. I think all trucks originally sold in Aus were shipped that way. I'd like to have one just for kicks, but it sure would make gettings parts an adventure.

I remember seeing some Isuzu Trooper parts (marker lights and such) on ebay a while back from Aus that were a little different too. I think the rules on signal lighting down there are not what we're used to in the states.

I allways thought it was funny how on those vehicles from across the pond that have right hand drive, everything is backwards (even the blinker handle) but the peddles are not. right foot gas and left clutch and brake. What gives?

i went to meet my in-laws a year and a half ago and rented a car while i was there, you get used to it after a couple of miles.....till you get to your first city intersection........that's a little hairy.
