There is no steering wheel adapter kits that Grant made for my 76 Luv that I could find. I was really surprised. So what exactly do you guys do to put in different steering wheels? I wanted to get a Grant wheel or something...

The part # for the Grant adapter kit is #4164. It's not a common item any more so it isn't readily listed. It can be ordered from just about any place that sells Grant steering wheels.

Alright, wasn't coming up on the computer at work. I'll order it from Performance next week since I got the part number now. Thanks.

Will this same adapter work on an '81 model?

According to the Grant website, 81-82 Luvs require a #4508 adapter kit. This is for basic style steering wheels to the stock column. Also i found that they no longer list an adapter for the 72-80 Luv. But they still have the #4164 adapter. If anyone needs an adapter for the 72-80 Luv, if you can get the 4164 kit, it will work.

i have a 73 luv and noticed that on the stock steering wheel there is 2 little rods 1/2 inch long to turn the indicator switch off, will a sports steering wheel have them? or will you have to turn the indicators off manualy after going around corners?

What do you mean by a "Sports steering wheel". If that particular steering wheel is a Grant steering wheel, then the adapter kit will have the components (pins) to make the indicator switch function correctly.
The horn will work also but on my truck, i had to grind down the nut so the spring would fit under the cap. There wasn't enough room and the spring was compressed fully. It held the cap from touching ground when pushed.

I dont know if any other companies have steering wheels that can be applied to the Luv. It looks like Grant is phasing out that application and they seem to be the most well known manufacture. If you do find a company that makes a wheel for the Luv, im pretty certian that they would make it to fully function like the Grant system.

Maybe Grant should not phase out the kit, if they knew they had a site like Luvtruck
