i need to know how hard it would be and were i can get adapters to put a 3.8 v6 into a 79 4x4 luv. do i need to change the transmition or any of that stuf and if so would i have to chang the tranny and the t case? any help would be appriciated. thanks alot

Thats a tough swap. The 3800 you have was made to be mounted transverse in front wheel drive applications. I don't think it would be worth the time and trouble to put that motor in.

PLUS the fact thats its a computerized engine, sensors on those things every where ( I know i am currently going thru an 87 Century w that same engine) trying to get it to run is a nightmare from hell. Now if ya went w an earlier year V6 you might be alright, and I just happen to have one for sale, matter of fact the whole truck is for sale, see my ad in classifieds on 79 luv truck for sale.

I would agree. A carbed v6 out of an early S-Dime would probably be a good choice. I have a Buick Regal w/3800 and happens to be a 94 also. So much crap in the engine compartment that I dont have a clue where to start when something goes wrong. Thats when I call my brother in law to fix it.
