I've been to Pensacola a few times, it is a pretty good ride. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it yet. I'm really still dropping to much money into the truck to mess with the old block. Many projects left after the motor.

i like crate motors also.......mine came from world....after.rebore......new kb black pistons......bigger cam. big dart intake....1050 dom.etc i had about 16 000 in it now new water pump....fuel pump.......mustang front end brakes......too much damn money for 732 hp@engine. 3000 dollars is nothing for a motor....if you can get 440hp for 3000 dollars i say you are fortunate.....a complete dynoed 415 inch with 465 hp from jegs or summit is 7500 easy not counting headers.water pump fuel pump etc people throw around numbers like 450/500/600horse power etc....when they have no idea what they are talkin about or what it takes to reach those numbers even with blowers, turbos etc..or the quick fix nitrous.....usually a standard rebuild for a shit motor will cost 1500 for vertually nothing but a rebuild to spec and maybe a .30 bore....and you are back to crap horsepower and torque!if you are getting a low compression motor rebuilt, its better to get a crate motor....the 350/260 horse in sum/jegs is about 1200 you can't beat that for a brand new engine with warranty, plus its streetable ,trust me high horse engines even with lower compression are not streetable ,until you have had a few like me,,you can't relate......and the real funny thing about it with those supposed boosters .its all a lie, people think you boost your octane on unleaded to say 94/95/96 with those that claim they add 2-4 points they do but its hundreds..like 92.2/92.3 not 94 95 don't be mislead with those figures.its all bs.my 2 cents

Woww, I cant believe I didnt see this one before today..... My Goodwrench motor that I have in my luv has about 113k on it now, but still runnin pretty damned good except a valve knock and header leaks.... Hell, I say put a lil bit of money into bearings, a new crank, and whatever else is messed up. Save money up until you can afford a blower and a buncha other goodies for the new motor....... I mean hell, a fair "rebuild kit" for a 350 only costs like $200.... Just have someone that knows what they are doing install the stuff..... Or if ya wanna just put the new one in, send me the heads and waterpump off the old one

The new motor is in!!! I haven't spun it pass 4k rpm's yet(if I don't do the break in procedure right it will void the warranty) but it runs like hell. Almost to the point of scaring me again. My carb is still screwed up but now I'm saving for a Mighty Demon. Maybe by the time I get my carb I will be done with my 500 mile break-in. From what I have seen on the heads it is put together right, heavy duty Crane 1.6 roller rockers, push rod guide plates, Victor Jr. intake, Crane cam with .512" lift. The motor has been impressive already. I'll be glad when I can jump on it hard then we will see. But it's stronger than my other motor shifting at 4k. Peak horses doesn't come until 5800 on this one. 450 miles to go
