oh and I went to a car show today, saw this luv.....it had a Pontiac 400 crammed in there, he had to cut the grille and two of the headlights to make room for the radiator! eek. It wasn't pretty, but it was still a luv. oh and it was a convertable, too, just like mine! and it was a pink engine! woo!

What material do you plan to use for the dash? If you could, keep us well informed on the dash build. I for one am very interested with this. A lot of other owners will opt for a custom dash and if you can give us any info, it will be great.

I am planning on using sheet metal, I'm not sure what gauge yet. Then I'll put foam over it and finally nougahide(sp). A friend of mine's dad is a professional welder, and he's going to be helping me a lot.

There is a great dvd you can get from Wyotech (by sending off for information) that my boyfriend got, the dvd has all kinds of cool tech tips. I was particularly interested in the making of door panels and headliners, but it shows body work, too. I figure I can apply some of this information towards the making of the dash.

I'll keep you posted.

Dont ish yourself, thats a great mockup there. Good job! I too am doing a completely diffrent dash, sheet metal with a special gauge cluster that I'm not talking about until its in but it should be sic. I just need to find someone that can bend sheet metal for me down here in Portland, I'll weld it all up.

looks like a good dash design let us know how it come out.

Hey Bighappy, that's my '71 C-10 stepside. Jess is my girlfriend and so she has her truck and I have mine. It's fun to work on them together. She can hold her own quite well in a garage, not to brag or anything.

That looks pretty good. That coupe looks like the american grafitti one. I like those old coupes. Me and my dad are planning on putting a v8 in a model A build it from the ground up. :)
