dana 44 is a good rear end. stands up to quite a bit of horsepower(8.5" ring gear, used on trucks like IH scouts and wagoneers powered by 401s from the factory) and has a massive aftermarket support because it's been used in just about everything.
if you mean "offset pinion" as the pumpkin is centered but the pinion itself looks offset, don't sweat it. that's what u-joints are for

TJs have a centered axle afaik, so it shouldn't be a problem
don't quote me, but i think a TJ axle has a 59" or 60" WMS, so it should fit under a luv pretty nicely
i think your only issue is going to be welding on spring pads, which should be a piece of cake if you know what you're doing. there's none on a TJ axle, since they're coil sprung from the factory
