I saw the show. The truck looks cool and all but i guess being an owner of one, i cant see not doing anything to the drivetrain. The truck looks like it can go but knowing whats under the hood kinda kills the concept of something that looks hot but run fast it will not. The kid seems really happy so i guess thats all that matters. They definitly got the color right!!!

sad I haven't seen it yet...I don't get that channel. I get 5 and 13. My tv is from 1980 or something. lol. I've seen that show before, though, all they usually do is change how the car looks.

it was pretty cool looking. the color was the shit 8) i could've done without the flames and civic hood cowls
now they put alot of audio stuff into it and i'm positive that luv can't handle all that power from 3 12's and 2 tv and all the neons
the guy said it didn't run to well but hell, lets just drop 10 grand into and not put a single dime into the motor :? it was still cool. i loved how the tono cover came up with the push of a button. hell put a fringe in there and i'd live in the back

I looked on MTV website to get pics off of it, but no pics yet. I will link pics when I find some.

I agree about overloading the system with all the electronics. I wonder if they upgraded the charging system as well....
I didn't like the shackles in back. they should have left the rear ride alone of anything.
I think overall they did a good job on it, although we all can pick at it about stuff we didn't like. it is a luv and it was on MTV! woohoo!

wonder where the kid is and if he will ever visit luvtruck.....

Honda scoops with no engine upgrade.
Flames - cheesy, woulda been better airbrushed.
Shackels in the rear - said wheels were 18's on the rear, too much for me.
Mosquito netting - might as well through that away!

Liked the interior though, bed too. The paint is actually really close to what I want to paint mine.

Did anyone else cringe as they were literally ripping things off the truck in the beginning? 8)

haha, thats so funny you mention saying "someone could have used those" when they were tearing it apart, I did the same thing!
Actually at one point I said to my friend, "they could've put that on ebay! Don't they know this stuff is impossible to come by!?!"

It was definately nice to see that they chose the LUV to get pimped out. I was sure that no company in their right minds would take on a job to customize a LUV seeing as how few parts, be they stock or custom, are off-the-shelf. Overall though I think a customized or restored LUV has 10 times the appeal of any other mini-truck. As much as I like the late 80's to early 90's S-10s, I don't think they had anything on the LUV. Given the same engine, options, etc, I think Chevy would have gotten more sales with the LUV body than the S-10 any day.[/quote]

Definately would look better without the cheesey vinyl flame graphics! Still one hell of an improvement over the old banana yellow camper truck. :D I wouldn't mind having mine painted like that, but I would just scratch the nice paint up on the rocks or in the woods. :( It's no fun off roading in a Luv if you have to worry about scratching the paint. I wonder if they still have that kids old seat laying around? It's darn sure better than the one I got!

I almost shit when I saw they were doing a LUV. I think the kid has a good truck now. I only hoped they cleaned her out underneath and put in a better alternator for it cause there ain't no way that 35Watt powerhouse is gonna run all that crap!

i was lookin at your signature. i don't believe this truck qualifies as a beast. maybe a tough mouse lol.

i think the truck looks ok. the color is nice but im not too wild about the hood scoop or the flames.

if your happy with it thats all that matters.
