Well today while driving home from work, the radio cut off, I did not think anything of it, when I got off of the freeway the car shut off and it wouldnt stay started unless I had my foot on the gas, does anyone have any suggestions. My car is a 1978 chevy Nova. Thanks Shane

I personally would think it would be a fuse in the fuse panel or a fusible link somewhere.......

your ignition switch could be going bad that would cause the radio to cut out and all sorts of other weird things to happen

Ok, I found out today that the radio doesnt work at all, everything else electrical works and so does the alternator, I tested all of the fuses and they all work too, so I guess the only thing left would be the ignition switch. I am still open for more suggestions though. Thanks, Shane

Would it be the ignition switch itself that I buy, or the ignition lock cylinder. Shane

If its not the switch, clean the batt posts. I had that prob with one of my Jettas. If you have a low power alt, it may have to have it floored to keep enough power to run it. But if its not getting enough power unless you keep it floored, give it a bigger alt, and check the batt.
