My boss has got a tranny the came out of a 3/4 chevy that was behind a 454 he's putting in his chevelle. If I get a divorced t-case, how big and hard is this tranny gonna be to install and can I hook up his buick 305 to the front :?: Thanks.

I doubt the buick will bolt right up to the tranny. I'm guessing the bolt pattern won't match. for instance the th350, has diff, patterns for diff brands from GM, ie buick th350 wont line up on a chevy and chevy won't line up to a buick.

Maybe I can talk him out of the turbo 350 he's got on the 305 now.

If the 'Buick' engine is a 305 Chevy it will fit but more than likely it will be the 305 Olds and that will not fit a Chevy tranny. Go id the 305.
Good luck

Here's 2 questions for all you super knowledgables. 1-Will the torque conv. from a t-400 fit in a t-350??? 2- I noticed that the rear shaft [ where the drive line slides on ] on the 400 was bigger then the t-350. Did the 400 come out of something like a 3/4 ton truck? Thanks T.

I think the 400 converter will work on the 350 but I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time. The 400 is a beefier tranny thoughout because it was initially built for use in trucks. G.M. also used them in a number of their bigger cars.

I want to sell a turbo 400, and was just curious what you guys think I should try to get for it. I have seen them in the paper anywhere from $350 down. It came out of a truck that blew the motor, so the trani should still be good. I think.
