Hello,

I have an opportunity to buy an '81 Luv 4x4. The engine/transmission were rebuilt by the gentleman selling it. However, he could not get the transmission working. How hard would it be to get a transmission for this vehicle if I can't get the old one working. Autozone can get me an engine, but not the transmission. Are LUV transmissions still available?

I failed to mentioned that the motor is a 1.8L and the transmission is a 4-speed.

There's a ton of people on this site who have done engine and tranny upgrades so there should be plenty of people with tranny's lying around depending on where you're from. Hopefully someone who's got one will chime in and help you out.
