where did you find premier!?!?!? I looked one time for premier and could find nothing...they are excellent decks. Anybody ever used metric audio? They claim to have quality stuff at low LOW prices...am wary...also got a question. I have to mtx 12" 8000 series subs. Think they'll fit behind the seats? I know they'd have to go in a box thats smaller then requirments call for...what happens when u put subs in too small of a box????? Seems to me u'd just get a more clean hit...

premier from pioneer is the only thing I run.
I have a deh-840mp in my car and a deh-740mp in the luv.
you can get premier at any authorized pioneer dealer.
note: there are places that sell pioneer, but not authorized dealers
or you can get on ebay and check the units there.

Unfortunately dont have pics at the moment cause somebody broke into my truck in process of having motor rebuilt due to the little punks draining oil out of it..........but will try and get some for ya

i have two 10 inch pyle subs with a 1000 watt amp behind the seat with also a 6x9 in a independent box on each side of the subs plus two 5 inch speakers in kick panel...

holy shit slick...dont u got a window blowout problem with 1000 watts? I know i'd have an issue if my truck was airtight with 12's but im just curious if it would work. I'd rather learn what happens when u use a undersized box from someone here then from experience...

Yeah i do have turned it up once too loud and cracked a window so now when i turn it up have to turn subs off

It actuall does really good in terms of sound quality.....It's just have to turn bass down cause that little of area cant handle that much air moving due to bass when it is airtight

i personally prefer a pioneer reciever, they seem to have the clearest sound. infinity and boston seem to be the clearest speakers, for a cheaper speaker i'd go with kenwwods they seem cleare than the pioneers. as for subs i'd go with the kicker comp cvr's they are the best bang for the buck that i've seen, depending on where you buy them. frys electronics has the 10's for $120 and the local car stereo shop sells them for $80. so shop around. these are some of the best subs i've heard for the price. i'd run a rockford fosgate punch amp, a little pricey but i guarantee a punch will blow away a cheaper amp with more watts. a friend of mine bought a punch 100 and it came with a sheet that showed they had tested his amp and showed the watts it put out and it was alot more than it was supposed to be. they way under rate the wattage on them.

i bought my pioneer deh1300 on ebay used and it works great got it for less than $50. i just wanted something inexpensive at the time (about a year ago). and i'm happy with it so i'm gonna keep it for awhile, it sounds great, just doesn't have the fancy display. as far as boss brand, they suck. well for the money i guess they are okay since they are cheap. a friend of mine has one and it skips easy, and the lighted display stopped working, and the overall quality is poor. its better just to spend a little more and get a quality brand, saves money in the long run.

i have been studying stereos for awhile now trying to invest my money wisly. i signed up for sounddomain.com, they helped out a lot. for the system, spend some money, and do it right the first time. i would go with two JL audio 10w0's with a JBL 300.1 powervalve amp. al that will cost you about 400 bucks. as for the deck, pioneers and premiers are good, i am running a deh-760mp in my toyota, and it is killer. but you just cant beat alpine, clarion, and eclipse. for speakers i am running two 6 1/2 alpine type r's, and two alpine 4" types s's. those are spendy speakers, but they sound good. for my amp, i am either going to go with a phoenix gold tantrum 1200.1 or a memphis 1000.1. i have two 10" kicker L7 subs, and i think that they should hit real hard. just remeber, the key to having a good system, is in the install. and for the record, i have seen pictures of ferraries and porsches and the such with boss systems in them, and if you go to a stereo store with boss products, ask to see one of there neo subs, you'll laugh.

memphis amp thats what my friend has for an amp with his nakamichi 8"
sounds good probably cost him a lot

i like the square shaped kicker L7 thats a good speaker too

right on man

and another thing bout stereo systems you dont want to over power the sub or under power it, it screws them up

jl audio makes some of the best subs on the face of the earth.the 10w0's will sound good, and they dont require a lot of power. they are only 100 bucks a sub, and you can get an amp for 150.

did you guys have to get a different alternator when you put subs in? or can the tiny little stock thing actually pump out enough juice to run everything?

i made a custom bracket for a different 160 amp alternator for my truck. I installed a one wire alternator off ebay. It works awesome but bracket was difficult to make right. I could have just used the stock one....u can get a 50 amp stock replacement from the auto parts store. You just tell them your truck had ac, the trucks with ac units came stock with a 50 amp alt. The BEST thing you can do for that big system you want to put in is buy a GOOD battery and a GOOD capacitor. That ways your lights wont be dimming on you when your bass hits. Mine still dim on me with the 160 amps and its because I do not have a cap installed.
