Tabor, I run Lakewood traction bars on my '78 and I am happy with them, not to mention they only cost me $29 at Schucks. But if you are having problems keeping traction, also invest in some better tires. Mine is a street truck primarily but I have raced a couple times in the last couple weeks, I switched to 295/50/15 in the back and that helped extremely, not to mention on the street when you roast em it leaves a nicer line of rubber

. If you have the money, do like IDOXLR8 said and change the suspension to 4link, you will get a little more weight (depending on the materials used to make it), but it would be made up for and surpassed by the change in the reaction the truck takes when you get off the line.
