After I bought my v8 Luv I found a time slip in the glove box that was 15 something. The lane # on the ticket matched the # still on the windsheild. You could tell by the 60 foot times that there was a very bad traction issue.

Last fall with a sbc, stock rear, and stock 14" tires I ran a 14 flat with awful 60 ft. times. Traction is definatly an issue.

I did a 1/4 with my 78, but I didn't do a legit time. Us backyard mechanics also use backroad race tracks  , but the guys I had time me said I was just under 12, but as everyone else, traction was a problem and it sure felt a lot faster than that (a second or one and a half, but it all counts.) 350/350turbo, 10bolt out of an Astro van, and the rear tires are a lil oversized (295/50/15). As soon as I get the funds to put a radiator in it, I will be taking it to a real race track. WARNING TO EVERYONE DOIN A BACKYARD SBC SWAP: DO NOT USE THE STOCK RADIATOR WITHOUT AN EXTREMELY LOW THERMOSTAT. I personally dont run a thermostat, I made a flow restrictor out of a piece of aluminal sheeting.
