What must be done to remove lower ball joints on a 79 4x4 luv?

ive dont it on a 73 and it shouldnt be too much different, there are 4 bolts holding it on, undo them, you may also have to take off the stub axle so undo it from the top ball joint as well, plus take off whatever crap there is for the 4x4 set up. its not terribly hard you may just have to give the stub axle a bit of a whack with a hammer to free it up.

ok and whats a stub axle? The lower ball joint wont come up out of where its mounted because the axle is in the way...i just need to know what all should be removed in order to get the old one off and new one on....

after you undue the 4 bolts on the lower ball joint and knock the upper ball joint loose, the whole spindle will be loose. then you have to undue the bolts that hold the locking hub. once that is off you should be able to see the end of the axle. if i remember right there is a clip on the end of the axle that you take off then the whole spindle will come off and leave the axle on the truck.

by the way you need to loosen the torsion bars first.
