What is normal oil pressure for a sbc? Mine is running around 70 at idle and as high as 90 under load. I just read an article on a dyno test and they were running around 90 under load as well and swithced to a 10/30 oil and pulled a couple more HP. I am currently using 20/50, its 11.5-1 solid roller motor. Any thoughts?

Anywhere between 40 and 80 would be "normal" oil pressure for a SBC. If you go below 40, thats pushing it, below 20, you better get out the rebuild kit. The rule of thumb is "For every 10 pounds of oil pressure at idle, is a thousand RPM" Example: 60 pounds at idle, your safe to 6000 rpm.

20/50 is what was recommended by the guy I got the motor from. I may try running something different though.
