when i turn my key to on, not all the way to start, i hear a hum and an intermittant clicking noise. it was comming from near my gas tank. could this be the fuel pump? why would it be clicking? should i just replace it? could this be an electrical problem and the pump is fine? AAHHH!!!

the fuel pump is the only thing back there that i know of that could be making noise. turn the key on and crawl up under the truck and verify if its the fuel pump, if it is give it a few licks with a hammer and see if that fixes it, but you should be thinking about replacing it.

Mine does it. I am not gonna worry about it until it goes out. Mine has done it since I had the truck.

It does not really bother me, but then again, I do have a parts truck.

It does not go inside the tank does it? Or does it strap on the outside? (The Universal that is) Cause from where I am a looking, it is outside the tank on my LUV

So long as it is after the filter it really don't much matter. Well, you might not want to strap it to the exhaust pipe, but that goes without saying. ;)

Nice guys.

Naah, I wanted to know if any universal pump would would that is mounted externally. Where it is mounted is irrelevant as long as it grabs the gas out of the tank and shoves it in the engine.
