:?: Hey I just bought a 74 Mikado from one of my reletives and I was told the carb that is on it is runnin too rich. he said it was a holly and it would burn out my pistons if i drove with it. i would just like to trade for a stock carb. will also buy if its not too much. email me at camn_ross@yahoo.com thanx.
p.s. i also have a lot of other thing i need help with (hood badly rusted, dash extremely cracked, doorhandles stripped, wires under dash really Effed up) but right now i just need to take care of the carb right now. thanx. :?: [/img]

I think I might still have a carb off the 75 rust bucket parts truck I have. I'm not sure it came with the truck when I got it, but I'll check. Dash, well that is pretty much any luv, but there is now a cap (fixes the top third or so of the dash) and those can be found on ebay fairly regularly. (Search for Chevy luv and you should find one) Hood, junkyards are the easiest for body parts. I don't have anything that isn't on a good truck or rusted to the point of no return or I'd offer. Door handles I know I have a few, interiors are not even that hard to fix.

On the carb, do check into adjusting it. Usually the holley carbs found on LUVs end up being rebadged Weber carbs. You can find typical Weber adjustment specs here: http://www.carbs.net/Weber/adjust.htm and there is a picture (look at the 32/36 DGV series) here to confirm it is a Weber rather than an actual Holley. If you can get it tuned in better, you'd be better off keeping the aftermarket carb than going back to stock.

If you want to get rid of the holley, and you want to trade. I've got a carb from an 80 and a 76. Swap you one for the holley. Personally though I'd stick with the holley.
