I traded off the wrecked 79 4x4 chevy, for a blue 79 t top trans am, with 6.6L Thae car is completely straight, except for 2 small rust holes in the deck lid, and the right quarter is bubbling. The interior is in pretty bad shape, needs door skins, and quarter panels. the quadrajunk carb is off course screwed up, but I'm keeping the good holley off of the truck, to fix that.

Only thing im not sure of is, if a 6.6L pontiac is a 400 big block, or a 403?

i'd love to see a 4x4 mulletmobile like that. put in a dana 44 front axle and a 205 transfer case, would be fun :)

that would be a cool 4x4. if anyone subscribes to four wheeler magazine there is a 79 oldsmobile with a 401 v8 that someone converted to a 4x4 its got a dana 44 front axle, dana 70 rear, 4.56 gears, 38" boggers in the front and 39" tractor tires in the rear. even has a flame paint job. doesn't look like the greatest 4x4. its on pg 60 in the april 2004 issue.

I seen 4x4 camero's firebirds and t/a all over the place, so I wouldnt waste my tiem doing that, its the easiest swap, fit right on a wagonner frame, perfect.

This un is gonna get a nice paitn job, and then probably be sold

Did Trans ams ever come in a different color other than blue? Mine was blue, my freind has two that are both blue. Ive only seen a couple that arent blue round here. Damn man, how do you get away with havin that many cars/trucks. Neither my wife or the local law enforcement would let me do that.

Those older Trans Am cars are worth some money. It's 25 years old, which makes it a classic, and that automatically boosts the price by a significant amount. There are people that will pay a good amount for those cars, just to restore them. I think I might do some research on it, cause they seem to be pretty rare.

I just went on ebay and the cheapest one there was $1550.00 and still going. What they described as a rusted in spots, and in need of total resto. They of course have one for $15000.00. and it isn't even four wheel drive.

I'm old enough to remember when those cars were new. I knew one guy who had one, and he used to cruise down the highway on the way to Florida at a honest 130 m.p.h. The car has possibilites.
