I'm going to try to rebuild my hitatchi before I break down and buy a weber.

Question... What is the purpose of the little thingies on the top?

one of mine is kinda screwed up.. but I didn't know if it would matter or not.

Thatz where mine is jacked up.. it pours gas down the carb flooding the engine... lol im ready to thow the thing over the hill.. lol i dont know what to any more....... we got the rebuild kit put it in and it still does it lol...

thats the overflow for the bowl of the carb. if the bowl overflows it lets the gas come out there and into the engine, so you don't end up with fuel on the outside of the engine. it won't hurt if they are a little bent or dented. if you have fuel coming out then your float has a hole in it or problems with the needle and seat.

I agree with 81Luv4x4. Probably a hole in the float or an improperly adjusted float.
