I still have all my emissions hooked up but there is a sound coming from the back of the pump it sounds like alot of air being sucked into the back of it, its a little hole and when I plug it the truck runs better. Does anybody elses smog pump do this or has my pump gone out. Also isnt the carb choke suppose to open fully when the truck warms up because mine always stays shut or closed and if I try to open it the truck just shuts down. Thanks Shane

By the way I got my truck to run but it still idles wierd. It idles up and then down it still has problems and it doesnt overheat anymore, I guess it was the water pump after all. Thanks Guys

is it the pump itself, or the valve behind the pump, if its the valve, it could be leaking vacuum from the engine, which would explain why your engine would run better when you plug it. if its not that valve, there is a vent on top of the pump that it could be coming from, if not then the pump could be bad, you can find them easily in junkyards, i got mine from an isuzu p'up with a 1.9. it was identical to the one from my luv. but it really sounds like the valve is bad, you can also get them from junkyards. as far as the choke goes mine choke takes awhile to open, like 10 minutes idleing.

its not the check valve that is on the air manifold and its not that vent on the top, its coming from the back of the pump there is a little hole on the back so does that mean its bad. The choke doesnt open up at all even after 10 min. of idling. Thanks Shane

What happens when you shove a screw into the hole? I will have to look at the one at the house to give you more info on it.
