I bought a 1980 Chevy Luv with 60K miles from California. It is a nearly perfect truck. The car shipper said he had problems loading/unloading because the throttle was hung up. When the truck is started it revs all the way up like a hung up throttle. However, the throttle moves freely and is not hung up. I checked the vacuum lines and they seem ok. I even replaced carb with NOS carb I had and no dice. I am at my wits end. Has this happened to anyone else. I do not want to blow an engine over something that is likely a simple fix.

Try inching off the brake booster line
