what have i got myself into? finally got the 79 4x4 home. the nut who sold it to me insisted it was only 2 bolts holding the front cover on. ok ass if its so easy to change the timing chain why was the damn truck sitting in your garage for a year? u like bumming rides to work? anyways i was able to pull the head off today. i'm not sure if my valves need to be renewed or just cleaned. first head ive ever pulled off a motor. one cool thing about the luv is it has a weber on it already that ive been reading so much about. i'm undecided on wether to rebuild this engine or buy a rebuilt one. either way it will be cheaper than getting a new tranny for my mini van. any body know where to find a rebuild kit or rebuilt engine in oregon or the web? any price quotes? i'm not thinking about a bigger engine at this time. and i do think i'll be able to squeeze 2 car seats in there :P

Hubler's engines in Cascadia, OR is who is doing mine. i work up ther on saturdays, but i am going back up there on monday. ill see how much it will cost for you to get the re-ring kit, and some new pistons. it shouldnt be that much. plus i think redline line in albany will grind a cam for like 20 bucks. it wont be too expensive to rebuild, maybe like 400 bucks at most.
