the 4 blade fans on the luvs don't have a clutch, the 6 blade fans off the later pups have a clutch.

6 blade plastic fan. The clutch I got from o-reillys and had to do away with an adapter plate that was on my fan.

yeah my buddies Z is a fuel injected one. It dosnt run so i towed it for him whith my luv, he got it for $250 8O . We were kinda poking around at it this summer but didnt realy get anywhere. I am lost when it comes to FI, though now that i have been through my 90 troopers motor i have some understanding of it :)
Oh is the FI on the Z mechanical or computer?

Its computer it has a fuel injection brain under the drivers side kick panel, if it isnt running the first thing you might want to check is if the distributer cap is cracked, I guess there notorious for that. It costs like $7.00

we have done a full tune up, replaced all the vac lines and pulled the valve cover to make shure all the valves were working. My buddy dosnt have the money to work on it right now(that and its too cold to work on anything). Well probly rebuild it this spring.

All of them that I have seen have been bolted on. That is not to say that you couldn't take that off and put on a thermo unit. I think it might even give you a little better cooiling performance.
