im putting a new engine into my Luv and i have to move the engine mounts back about a foot, and one of them sits right where the linkage for the handbrake sits. ive decided to remove the under dash pull out handbrake and put in a new one behind the gear selector. has any one done this before? is it hard to do?

I have heard that one or two people have done it, but what they have done is take the hand brake and re-route it so that it is still in the truck but instead of being up front it is pullied around the tranny.

The perplexed look on my face was a giveaway.

well if you can get a lever out of a car then i wouldnt think it would be too hard to rig up. Just remeber to keep the tensioner and pull distribution things there.

You can put a different one in, like out of a Chevette if you have bucket seats.

What seats will fit in the LUV that fit the bolts or are you making new ones?

I was thinking about the buckets out of a Pup or the 60/40's out of a Trooper or sumfin.

A Gemini huh? I will have to see if they have some in the boneyard. The Junk Yard owner and I are tight now. I met my boss out there the other day and come to find out he is re-doing a Karma-Gia.

So we were out there shooting the $hit for well, four hours on what we were trying to do. :)

But I will go out and check to see if some of those will be worth the pain. It would be worth the confort
