MY GAS GAUGE READS EMPTY WHEN TRUCK IS OFF, IF YOU CRANK TRUCK UP GAUGE STEADILY CLIMBS TO FULL, I ESTIMATE IT HAS ABOUT 1/2 TANK RIGHT NOW. COULD IT POSSIBLY BE A SIMPLE GROUND PROBLEM? :?:

lol...i just went threw my whole system to try and fix my gas gauge and guess wut....dirty fuse block terminals!!! Also, pull out the gauge out of the tank and hook ohm meter to wires to see if when you move float meter needle moves all the way across and smoothly...if not maybe its time for a new one!

Well at least im not the minority here with stupid fuel gauges  Mine has never been right. It a little off. When it reads 1/4 tank..you better find a gas station real quick!! And it takes FOREVER for the fuel gauge to move once you filled it....even with a SBC in there! 8O  But once it starts to move it drops like a bat out of hell
