So I already have a 1980 4x4 LUV as my offroad rig which will soon get a 2.6 isuzu with a 2.3 intake for the carburetor, but I recently found that turbogemini.com makes bolt on kits for these little LUV motors and can make a ton of power. I'm looking at getting a 2wd LUV and getting the 250hp turbo kit with the blow thru carby kit and making a badass little 2wd with a turbo'd factory motor, instead of doing a 350 swap like everyone else does. I'm just wondering if anyone has done this kit and knows if it will all fit under the hood of a LUV? I would think it would but looks like maybe the turbo might get close to the master cylinder. My 4x4 has a 3 inch body lift so I cant really tell for sure if it will work in a stock LUV. Any advice is appreciated!

Should all fit just fine the engine compartments aren't very different as far as I know
Lot of space in there if you use it right. Would be a fun build for sure!

Yeah i definitely wanna do it. Looks like it could be damn close to the brake lines or master cylinder though, its really hard to tell

Not totally sure. But if it is too close look into the caravan manual brake mc to do away with the booster

Will need to change the pedal pivot point so it doesn't kill your leg to use it. Hopefully it won't.even be necessary

Look up turbo Isuzu KB. That would be the Aussie version of the luv. Steering wheel is the other side so booster.clearance isn't an issue for them but you can see where it sits if you find one

Ok now I'm considering doing the turbo. I have a rebuilt G200 with 25k miles, but it seems like a lot of blow by. I don't know who did the rebuild, I think it was a forum member here.

What do you guys notice in terms of blow by? I have oil spitting out on top of my valve cover through filter breathers on the oil fill and the one that usually connects to the carb in the back. I had to disconnect it from the carb because so much oil vapor was going into the engine it was fouling my plugs after a couple thousand miles. I can feel constant air blowing out of either hole in the valve cover. My other 1.8s didn't do this as noticeably.

Does this one need another rebuild before a turbo?

Mine always did the same thing even rebuilt. I just vented to atmosphere so it didn't gunk up my engine
Hell turbo it. If you break something you can get another g180 from someone doing or v8 swap for next to nothing and rebuild it so if yours does let go you have a backup

Can you get the oil pan off without pulling the motor? The Isuzu forum is saying you've got to drill the oil pan for oil return lines off the turbo.
