i just got my luv out of the shop.. i blew the head.. i pulled the head off of my ol 77 that i had and had it rebuilt..i couldnt clearance the valves right and it pissed me off and i just brought it to the shop.. 350 bucks at the shop and about 175 in the head rebuild and a giant pain in the ass later.. i cant get my damn truck to run right.. the carb was put back right all new gaskets.. you have to pump the hell out of it to get it to start then it doesnt want to stay running.. you finaly get it up and going and about 20 min into it . it runs like a champ .. but its pure hell up until then.. now im thinkin its a choke problem .. but not 100% sure if its an electronic choke or not.. pretty damn sure it is.. but would have to go out and tear it apart to look.. anyone have any suggestions on what i need to do .. short of getting a new carb? thankks in advance

Make sure the timing is right. Both distributor and the camshaft timing, the mechanic may have stuffed up the latter.
Make sure all the ignition componants are A1.

Did you find out how to do that choke conversion? I'm thinking of going to a manual choke due to all the problems I have with the auto.
