...I installed a Calmini header and had a custom "all Magnaflow" exhaust system bent up and installed today. All I can say is WOW. The SOTP dyno yielded great results. A mean growl under hard acceleration, silence at idle, no loss of low end, and a race to the redline. I wish someone would put one of the 2.6L motors in a LUV. I think it would be impressive...

The cost of the M/f cat, muffler, and all the header back pipe was $425 installed. I had another shop offer to do it for $300, but I know th eowner of the one I went with and he is GOOD. I don't think I could ask for any better...

Sorry, my ass-crack isn't calibrated enough to spit out any numbers (SOTP = Seat Of The Pants), although it has been enlarged by way of my Navy career. Anyway, the truck just feels right, now.

I didn't get any pics (I know I should have), but I'll see if I can snap a couple off.

Later...

sc01...whatever, Didn't I ask you to bring me one in a suitcase in a previous thread? I wish Icould get one over here in an affordable manner.

MEPR, The quality is great. I was going to buys a pacesetter, but it turns out to be a 4-into-1 design and I like the 3-2-1 tri-y thing. It is also ceramic coated, and the others are just painted. As far as the exhaust, the Calmini kit is nice in that they give you mandrel bent pipes, but the muffler looks to be a cheap-o chambered muffler. I would just go ta an exhaust shop (like I did) and have them do it. The 2.6 doesn't make enough power to really utilize the mandrel bends (more $$$) anyway. This is all my humble opinion, so take it for what it's worth. I did a lot of research before I spent the money.

Later...

I'm not sure about the smog leagality of it, but if does have bungs installed for O2 and the EGR pipe. I think Dan Houlster, the guy I bought it from, used it to pass smog right before he sent it to me. He normally runs a turbo charger on his 2.6, so if you contact him on the wire, he could probably give you some more info. His screen name is 'houlster', and he's a really nice guy.

No, man, not the 'C' word! No offense to those of you who are there, but I've made it a point not to end up in Sand Dog in my career.

Anyway...

Yeah, you've got a point, but I still don't want to get stationed in Sand Dog. Just get back home, man. BTW, I still have some motor mounts for ya!
