I redid my ground wire, and it didn't make a difference. I just lost fuel pump number 4. I am on my last warranty pump and it is getting to be embarrassing facing the guys at Oreillys again and again and again. So I've got two more questions maybe somebody in here can help me out.
1. when I installed my Weber carburetor, could I have hooked up/capped one of the incorrect hoses? I am specifically talking about the smaller hose that ran into the old carburetor. Not the main hose but the smaller one. I have it capped off, does it need to be plugged into the vacuum advance port or something? I apologize if that is a dumb questions but I am really reaching right now.
2. I have noticed on my last two failed fuel pumps that my gas level was just below half a tank, is there a chance that whatever hose inside the fuel tank isn't reaching the bottom of the tank, & I am sucking air and burning that fuel pump out very quickly?
this last fuel pump went out much like the first one did over six months ago, I let the truck set for two weeks after it ran great, I came out to start it one day to go to work, the fuel pump was no longer sucking or pumping any fuel but still humming and clicking along like it's working.. what the f***!!!
I realize this is a long and monotonous forum post, I apologize and appreciate any insight. Thank you.
