I think (repeat THINK, don't know) what you need to do is replace the Weber bellcrank with the one from the stock carb. The stock linkage acts as if you had rotated the Weber linkage about 90 degrees so that the pull from the accelerator cable winds up at about horizontal as the throttle is fully opened. The Weber linkage starts opening the throttle at almost a horizontal pull and ends at a downwards angle, which is hard to get with the throttle cable clamp location. Take the nut loose from both carbs, see if the stock bellcrank has the same slotted fitting as the Weber.
