hey all,
I have a '79 stock Luv. I broke the bleeder screw off in the front caliper. I managed to get the broken screw out of the hole. I am having a tough time figuring out what size to replace it with. Anyone know the right size? Summit Racing suggested the Dorman - Help Bleeder Screws 3/8-24 x 1-1/4 Inch but they were too thick... Thanks!

Brake line fittings are M10x1.00, the brake bleeder may be a slightly larger, if so it may be a M12x1.25. Since you will have to bleed the system anyway now that one side is open remove the other front side bleeder, take it to the parts store for a match. If you have a metric tap & die set they often have a thread pitch gauge, you won't likely have a die with fine enough threads but at least you could use one to determine the diameter.

since you have to bleed and if worst comes to worst a new set of calipers is under 100.00.just a thought

Thanks you guys! I appreciate the tips. I do have a tap and die set, I hadn't thought of it. I believe that will work to figure out the specs.
