Left work for my lunch break, when I got back in truck, turned the key and NOTHING. Battery is good, all power comes on, just not starting. Not even a click. Had to get back to work so thank god for manuals and roll starts. So, come this afternoon I will be trying to figure this out........

There are clutch switches? I can start the truck without depressing the clutch, even in gear. (done that once or twice accidentally) Now maybe it does have one and has been going bad and thats why or maybe someone has bypassed it and not done it correctly..... :smt017

heh...I can start my truck while in gear

Am I missing this switch too, perhaps? Or were they not on Series 4 trucks? I always just assumed 75 was still too early to have mandated those.

I have owned several LUVs and all had a clutch switch, my guess is that if you don't have one then its been by passed. Take a look at the wiring schemo, it shows all LUVs having a switch.

All had clutch switches but many were jumpered by owners. If the jumper comes undone no start.

Truck does have a clutch switch. It is broken. Rockauto has one for $15, for now I have it jumped. I have a 75 LUV Mikado that has a hydraulic clutch, my 79 has a clutch switch and cable clutch. The 75 has no place like the 79 does for a clutch switch, nor is anything bypassed. So maybe there is a year changed with this, something we should add into 800x1's post about LUV year by year changes.
