So I bought my 78 about four months ago, but haven't been posting about it, and now I'm gonna. All I've done since I bought it was new spark plugs and wires, new distributor cap and raptor, and points, lowered with 3 inch blocks plus took a leaf out and that lowered it probably another inch, and just this weekend I painted it primer grey, and I think I'm gonna leave it this color and paint my wheels black. Feel free to tell me what you think even if you don't like it, I wanna know what you guys think.

Nice and straight Luv. I don't care for the black wheel look myself, even though I had them for a short time when I first got mine. The only thing about leaving it primer is that primer is pourous and lets the water through to the metal beneath to make rust. Looks great though.

Im gonna clear coat the whole thing in the next few weekends, so i imagine that will stop the rain from getting through and rusting, right?

Impressive, ha. From the picture you can just barely make it out, but it looks good.

How is the ride? Still bearable? Or a jumpy bumpy mess?

Well I had to remove a leaf spring to go this low, so the ride quality is horrible, to me it's worth it, because I'm just a kid who wants a mice lookin truck, but if you care about ride quality even the littles bit, don't take a leaf out haha. Do you have lowering blocks in?

I have no idea. The ride is horrible in my truck, so I'm assuming it was more along the lines of your method.

Look between your leaf spring pack and axle there will be a metal block, measure it and if its less than 3 inches let me know I know what you could do to go lower, also count how many leaf springs you have and tell me.

hahaha alright.. You most likely have lowering blocks, but they might only be 2 inch, and with blocks the lowest you can go without being dangerous is 3 inch, so maybe you have 2 inch blocks and you can take them out and add 3 inch blocks.

If you are going to clear over primer why don't you just put paint over the primer then clear? I guess I am crazy but I can't stand to drive a car in primer. Did you prep the old paint before the primer.

And if you have 2 inch blocks you could take those out and buy 3 inch blocks for about 30 bucks at Tonys Auto Parts on fourth plain, thats where i bought mine. And obviously since those are an inch taller, youd be an inch lower, and its a simple job to do.

If you used primer from a rattle can understand that that stuff does not have hardner in it, your clear will just become fog soon. If you ever to paint the truck you will need to remove all of the rattle can primer, then apply real primer and sealer. I have been working in a high end body shop lately painting my airplane, I have seen horror stories from rattle can primer that has mot been removed before paint.
