hey all, looking for some clarification here.
G180/G180 head, Pacesetter header, Offy D.P. intake, (thanks, Mokadeath!) Weber 32/36.
I have ordered a Pertronix 1643 for it, (and a new 40,000k coil) and plan to slap some new NGK coppers in there while i am at it, and wanted to verify proper gap.
Am i correct that with my upgrades and the new elec. ignition I will be best at a .40 gap?
anything else to consider? thanks!

I went with the plug and gap specified for an 82 LUV/Pup, because they have electronic ignition as do you now.
I don't recall what that is, and am not going to look, because I'm in the house and the truck is not. :P

I just put a pertronix 1643 in my 1980 luv 1.8 with a weber and it just bolted in place of the old points. There is no adjustments for changing the gap from what it is when you install them
Hpoe this helps

Don..he means the gap of the plugs. I think you should be able to open the gap up more than stock(with points). I know with the GM HEI we would always use a wider gap for longer spark and better combustion.

With that hot of a coil you might want to go 45 but try 40 first.

pertronix reccomends a 40k coil for their ignitor series, and a coil is a cheap upgrade, so i figured as long as I'm at it,
I might as well do plugs too.
My buddy and I will mess with the timing and carb as needed, I'm sure there will be gains to be found there as well after this, but wanted a good setup to start from.
I appreciate the input!
