Ok, I have a great little question for u guys. I just got my truck back from a guy that did some work on tuning the carb. I filled up the tank and headed home on the highway. I ripped through first, second, and third gears and proceeded to shift to 4th at about 40 mph. I floored it and as soon as the speedo hit 45 it cut out. Weird, I thought, so I backed off the gas, and tried it again. Same result, so I ended up limping home at 45mph. Anybody got any answers because they would really be appreciated. Thanks guys

first i would check for any binding in the throtle cable. Have a friend press the gas all the way to the floor (whith motor off) and watch the cable for any biding. Also shine a flash light into the carb and make shure the throtle plate opens all the way.

I kinda guessing, but isn't there some kind of high-speed solenoid on that carb? Maybe they forgot to plug it in?

Yea , Ben your right. I would also check all your vacume lines. After he tuned it ...did he not test drive it before giving it back ? Check your fuel filter also...

There is an air screw underneith the carburater. Pull the carb off and turn it upside down.I think about 4 screws hold the base on the carb and they all look the same except one has a hole all the way through it. If that gets put back in wrong it can make the truck not run correctly.

It would seem that a vacuum line or a o2/gas mix is a little poor is what it sounds like.
