I did on accident on my 89 pickup. The 4z engines use timing belts, mine was off a tooth which was equal to 4 degrees. My motor isn't BRAND new, but it's not worn out either. going down the highway is torture and I ended up blowing out the crank seal housing gasket. Expect good power from 1500 to 2500 and then it stops. I wouldn't recommend doing this unless you have a brand new engine with really good rings or if it's a trailer queen
