Hi everyone. I'm not well versed when it comes to carb. I have an Hitachi that's been giving me problems and I'd like to replace it with a Weber or some other aftermarket one. I have a 79' LUV. What are my options? Thank you.

Well being in CA and needing to pass a smog test you really don't have any options other than keeping it stock. You could shop around for a rebuilt one or have yours rebuilt.

I'm asking because the rebuilt Hitachi I have I can't find a kit for. I'm trying to build an argument with the BAR here so I can have a parts exemption. If I can find one with an air cleaner adapter that would be great.

http://www.redlineweber.com/ I can't find the adapter for the stock air cleaner on here now, but if you were to call them, maybe they could help you.

i got my weber from redline and i have been really happy with it but i dont have any emissions to deal with here.
you could probably get an adapter to put the stock air intake on top of a weber... tuned well the weber would probably have better emissions than the stock one anyway
