I drove my Luv to DMV For a Vin # verfication & get the title n my name.I put gas in it b4 I made the trip got there & back home with no problem went and did a few more runs in my other truck was gone for 2hours came back home decide to give my True 1st Love (Wife) a ride in my Luv truck and it started but stalled after rolling out of my droveway and wouldn't start back up so I pushed it back in the driveway .Thinkn it was out of gas I went and got gas put gas in the truck and it still wont start. These trucks are known for their bad electrical connections. Make sure you have power to the fuel pump, and ignition system first. Check the carb. to see if fuel is reaching it.

If that doesnt work I would check fuel filter hint you said it ran fine then started backed out and died. if you just got it how long did it set and how old was the gas in it before you added gas.

Check both fuel filters. Some of the trucks have one before the fuel pump and one under the hood.Check the ground at the fuel pump connection on the frame by the pump. Also check your fuse for the fuel pump.Check the relay also.

LUV's have a weak link in the electrical system, the fusebox. The terminals the wires connect are riveted to the fuse holders. A little age and corrosion, and you get electrical intermittents. I solved mine by taking it apart and soldering the joints. Others have cleaned it with lemon juice, and others a new fuse box.

On the 6 wire plug from the VR white red = W = fuel pump and charge light, white = W = ignition, white blue = B = battery, black = E = earth, British for ground, white black = F = field, the stem of the Tee connector to the alternator, and white green = N feeds back to the VR.

Relays are on the right side, near the fire wall behind a metal cover. The fuse block is on the left inner fender, near the fire wall.
Take off the air cleaner lid, and manually pump the throttle while looking down in the carb. (You may need to hold the choke open) and see if you can see/hear fuel squirt when moving the throttle. That will tell you if you have fuel delivery or not.

All good tips here. Another one to cut to the chase and save some time---when the truck stops take a look at the carburator bowl sight glass. Is there gas in the window or not? Should be half way up the window.
