I feel your pain. I work at a Toyo/Lexus lot and almost ran a new IS300 into a wall after I spun the tires and the pedal got stuck on the floor matt. Oops. Luckily there was only one other guy in the shop and hes an import that didnt understand what I was doing anyways.

Ive had the throttle hang on me before in traffic. I was screwing around and did a little dry hop and snapped the throttle return spring. I just killed the ignition real quick.

Ahh yes, the good ol' "throttle-stuck-on-the-floor-mat" Happened a few times to me. I put new floormats in my dually recently, they have a dished shape to them to prevent water and mud and crap from flowing out onto the carpet. But the lip on the front catches the gas pedal, and once when i was accelrating, and when i went to shift it caught it right and pinned the pedal to the floor and then when i pushed the clutch in the rpm's just went to the moon. So what did i do.....panicked! lol So i hit the ignition and coasted to a stop. I figured out the problem pretty quick and solved it with a pair of tin snips  They are great floormats by the way!!

Good to hear nothing too serious happened to you or your truck Jk!

Man its a good thing that it happened now with this motor, and not later with my motor in if you decide to buy it. That could have been real ugly. You did the right thing shutting it down though. I saw a guy in a mustang one time stay all crossed up down the street, power shifted it and ended up taking out a power pole. I ran over to see if he needed help. The car was totalled. I asked him why he didn't turn it off. He said he didn't want to shut it down because he thought his steering would lock. What a stupid mofo. He almost hit 3 other cars.

lol. the throttle in my GMC dually used to hang too. it was somewhere in the throttle linkage... ahh theres nothing like a huge piece of metal barreling toward traffic at WFO throttle.
