Why don't you put your name on your post before you start talking shit. Did you think that some of us don't want a motor that'll light your hair on fire or burn gallons per mile rather than miles per gallon? Before you start talking about someone's "gutless pile of junk" think about how that might make the guy feel that spent a month a half building it. Not to mention the fact that he may be proud of his work.

Later...

Sorry Ben, I couldn't let this one go...

I agree with drummer!!! It's not our place to judge any decision of what the plan on doing with their situation. BRG has bowed out of their project and so has Kuranosuke. As involved with this site as they have been, it cannot be an easy decision to back away but they must have very good reasons to make such a call. I see it as an unfortunate situation for us also. Kuranosuke was building a sleek and somewhat unique setup and BRG was building a one of a kind missile( 2 of a kind if you count Q Crazy). It would have been really cool to see how these 2 trucks would work out. All we can do is throw them a salute and maybe in the future you can try another Luv project again.

I was bored and thumbing through some of the old posts. I never read this one before. The pics don't work anymore, but judging by everyones replies, it sounds like it looked pretty good. Anyways, good job. Its always better to be different, even if dumbasses flame you for it.

Again, Good job! Better late than never huh?

Yeah, thanks. Dkay has the motor I rebuilt (also in Oregon and a member of this board). The truck is no longer with me, but my Trooper is coming along nicely. Thanks for the compliment (sight unseen, even).

Here you go...

I saw the pics of this before, but damn that looks good! I'd have to say you did an awesome job on that thing...between you and Mr. Schoolcraft I think it shows the rest of us just how good one of these little babies can look.

In an earlier post, I think he said around $1000. I have seen people spend way more than that on much less of a motor, so he did a pretty good job!.

It was ~$1000 (a little more I think). I put in a Crane Cam, new head casting, new rocker arms, a full rebuild kit, and other little stuff as well as lots of painstaiking attention to detail. If you get a chance read through the pages of this thread and you'll get the full scoop...

Dkay: If you read this, update please...

Thanks again for the comments, I'm pretty proud of that one...

Correct me if I'm wrong, I thought I saw a G200 on the head in those pics. Is this a 2.0 engine, or just the head? Or are my eyes playing tricks on me? If this is a 2.0, where did you get the crane cam. Would appreciate any info on this. LCL

Your eyes are not deceiving you. That is a 1.9L with a 2.0L head. I got the cam from a guy in MN who had that gem sitting in a box on a shelf brand new. I went through about 2 months of collecting parts before I started that project. The parts were painful to find, but would have been well worth it had I stuck with the truck.

Thanks, but I'm just waiting for Ben to delete it because its too big. I don't know how to resize it though. If someone knows how, I would appreciate it. I think its pretty cool myself.

It's still sitting in the garage...

A G200 is a 1.9L engine. I remeasured the bearing cap clearances with plastigage and was happy. I've dropped my tranny and am getting ready to pull the bed off so I can cut out the old crossmember and make room for the 5spd tranny that's goin' in it.

Actually, they did make a 2.0L engine. I have one sitting in an Impulse in Oklahoma. I think they used the same head casting? That's just splitting hairs, though. I'm glad you have been happy with my work thus far...

Please keep us posted...
