I see the idle speed screw and I have set it a few times but when I go out driving the truck sometimes it runs 3000 rpm without any throttle and then idles really low at 400 rpm. Are there two idle screws? Where is the mix screw?

Thanks,

Mike

Mix screw is probably down near the carb base about mid ways. If it isn't obvious the hole to access it is probably filled with some stuff you have to either drill or dig out first.
I would first give all moving parts on the carb a good lubrication with something like WD-40 & don't forget the choke plate pivot points inside the carb. Sounds like you could have something like the linkage sticking.
